Social Media Marketing Questions — Answered

Which social media platforms should my Melbourne business focus on?

It depends on your audience and industry. Facebook and Instagram are the most-used platforms for Australian consumer brands and local businesses in Melbourne and Moorabbin — great for building local community and running targeted local ads. LinkedIn is essential for B2B brands targeting Melbourne CBD businesses, professionals, and corporate decision-makers. TikTok is worth considering for brands targeting under-35 Australians. NexIT recommends platforms based on where your specific audience actually spends time — not a generic answer.

How much should I spend on social media advertising in Australia?

For local Melbourne and Moorabbin campaigns, a realistic starting budget for paid social is $500–$1,500/month to generate meaningful results. National Australian campaigns targeting broader audiences typically require $1,500–$5,000/month to build reach and conversion data. Management fees are separate from ad spend. NexIT recommends a budget based on your cost-per-lead targets and competitive landscape — book a free consultation for a specific recommendation.

Do you manage social media for businesses outside Melbourne and Moorabbin?

Yes — NexIT manages social media for businesses across all of Australia. Our team is based in Melbourne CBD and Moorabbin, but we work with clients in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and regional areas. All social content is reviewed and approved by you before posting — we adapt tone and content to your brand voice, not a generic template.

How long does it take to see results from social media marketing?

Organic social media typically takes 3–6 months to build meaningful reach and engagement — consistent posting and community management compound over time. Paid social advertising can generate leads within days of going live. Most businesses see the best results when organic content builds trust and brand recognition while paid campaigns drive immediate leads. NexIT measures and reports on both tracks monthly.

Can social media marketing help my business rank better on Google?

Social media doesn’t directly affect Google rankings, but it has strong indirect benefits. Consistent social presence increases brand awareness, which drives more branded searches on Google — a positive trust signal. Social content also generates backlinks when shared and picked up by other sites. And for local Melbourne and Moorabbin businesses, an active social presence improves Google Business Profile engagement, which does influence local pack rankings.

Frequently Asked Questions — Social Media Marketing

Which social media platforms should my Australian business focus on?

It depends on your audience. LinkedIn is essential for B2B and professional services. Facebook and Instagram work well for B2C, local businesses, and e-commerce. TikTok suits younger demographics and visual brands. We recommend mastering 2 platforms before expanding.

How often should I post on social media?

Quality consistently beats quantity. For most businesses, 3–5 posts per week per platform is the sweet spot. Posting daily low-quality content is counterproductive — the algorithm rewards engagement, not volume.

How long before I see real results from social media marketing?

Organic social media takes 3–6 months to build a meaningful audience and engagement. Paid social campaigns can generate leads from day one. A combined organic + paid approach creates the most sustainable results.

Do you handle content creation and posting for us?

Yes — we offer fully managed social media services including strategy, content creation (copy + graphics), scheduling, community management (responding to comments and DMs), and detailed monthly reporting.

What's the ROI on social media marketing?

Organic social primarily drives brand awareness, trust, and community — harder to attribute directly but valuable long-term. Paid social is directly measurable: cost per click, cost per lead, and conversion rates are tracked in real time.
